Let me first say, I would like to thank Kelly for doing such a wonderful job as president. She has accomplished many things in the past four years, and the NHANA owes her many thanks.

NHANA President Elect John Hanlon was thanked by Dr. Susan & Gov. John Lynch June 3rd 2007 at the Governors Jazz Gala in Bedford NH.

She coordinated the “Frosty the CRNA man,” which was displayed in Conway throughout the winter months. This won New Hampshire the AANA’s Public Relations award given to a small state. She has also organized a small grass roots effort to help New Hampshire elect CRNA-friendly candidates. She was also able to finish up her educational work, and obtain her PhD. She has now earned the title Dr. DeFeo, but will always be a nurse anesthetist. I would also like to thank the NHANA members who have elected me to succeed Kelly as the New Hampshire CRNA state president. This office is held very dear to my heart and I would like to make you all a few promises. I will try my best to represent the state of New Hampshire on Capital Hill in Washington and at our state capital. I will continue to promote good, quality, safe care given by New Hampshire’s nurse anesthetist. I have a goal to personally call all the New Hampshire CRNA’s so you can let me know what our association can do for you and what direction we should move in. I will also be asking you to contribute to our NH CRNA PAC fund if you have not already. I would like to ask each one of you to please consider donating at least one hour of your salary to this very worthwhile fund, and thank the many CRNA’s who have gone far above this in their donations. The NHANA is here to protect CRNA practice throughout our state.

As Kelly has mentioned earlier, we can not run this organization without the help of the CRNA members. Things in our state appear to be stable at the present time, but we can always use good quality CRNA’s to help us as new officors, board of directors, and committees. If you are interested please give me a call. Once again, I’d like to thank you all for electing me as your president.
